data analysis business analytics project planning business strategyThe Full-time WP Carey MBA Program with Concentrations in Supply Chain Management & Business Analytics is a full-time, 2-year experience in one of the elite supply chain graduate programs in the United States The 2nd-year students provide clients with strategic and analytical supply chain performance and improvement projects.
Teams of 4-5 students work on the projects from the start of January through the end of April. Each 200-250 people-hour project includes a kick-off session, weekly syncs with the client, a mid-term presentation, a final presentation, a final report, and other associated deliverables as required (if you would like additional meetings, please note them in your project submission).
We have worked on over 150 applied projects with approximately 50 companies over the last 5 years. There is no sponsorship fee, we sign NDAs, and the client retains ownership of IP. You can find more information here: https://wpcarey.asu.edu/corporate-relations/msba-applied-project.
Learners
Deliverables are as requested by the client in the Project Proposal Template
The SCM MBA Applied Projects require a mid-term presentation, a final presentation, and a final report. If you would like final deliverables, please add to your project submission.
Deliverables:
- Mid-term presentation: problem statement, business value, scope, assumptions, approach, intermediate results, next steps. - in person or virtual, the second week of March 2021.
- Final presentation and Final Report: Problem statement, business value, scope, assumptions, approach, results and conclusions, limitations, possible extensions - in person or virtual, last week of April 2021.

- Data analytics model on cost and activity drivers of USAF F-16 aircraft maintenance.
- Hospital supply chain cost and inventory model for patented, medical, wound care product.
- Reverse logistics and profitability model for the recycling of Li-Ion battery banks used in a power utility's solar power installations.
- Transportation and logistics network optimization model for distribution of perishable, agricultural food products.
- Logistics and warehouse consolidation and nationwide network cost optimization model.
- Automated demand planning supplier integration process and model for critical-care orthopedics devices.
- Social Responsibility and Supplier Diversity model for banking client's corporate procurement.
- M&A operations and supply chain integration and logistics model.
Some of the following timelines must be met in Fall 2020, for a Jan 2021 start on applied projects. If you would like additional meetings, please add them to your project submission.
- Through October 2020: Client confirms interest in project sponsorship
- Dec 1, 2020: Client submits the first draft of Project Proposal (template attached)
- Dec 15, 2020: Client submits the working draft of Project Proposal (template attached)
- Dec 15 2020 - Jan 15 2021: Client prepares client liaisons, data and access in preparation for January 2021 Project Kickoff
- Jan 15, 2021: Client provides required NDAs, data, tools and platform access to student team and advising faculty
- Jan 19, 2021: Client sets up project kick-off meeting with the client project liaison, student team and advising faculty
- Jan 19 - April 30, 2021: Project duration
