All were polite, some were communicative, most demonstrated problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Q2 - Text short
Students met with Founder and Student Lead Developer at least once every other week during our bi-weekly team meetings. Students also had the option to pop into virtual "office hours" on the opposite weeks to ask specific questions and gain additional support. In addition, many students took advantage of our Slack channel and asked questions/received support directly as needed throughout each week.
Q3 - Text short
This was tricky. We got a late start and it took some time to understand the skill level and experience of our students on the team. Due to this being our first time all working together, we learned along the way that we had to modify our project deadlines. I believe the students managed their time well within the confines of what was expected of them. This next term, we will be able to provide more meaningful support and a structure that will allow for everyone to reasonably and effectively meet milestones and goals.
Team feedback
It was a pleasure working with this TMU team! We had a shortened term due to a late start, but everyone still came together to collaborate. The team divided into subgroups to accomplish tasks and work on 3 dedicated projects. Each group worked together to offer recommendations for improvements, new ideas, develop architecture, and provide documentation for their group's progress. Our Cal Poly team was able to continue where they left off at the end of the term to advance TMU Team's progress. We look forward to at least half of the TMU team who have chosen to return to continue their progress into the next term. Students were professional, communicative and polite. I have been impressed by their talents and skills. The students who took initiative on their projects, asked questions, and sought out support from our lead developer or me really stood out. These are positive attributes we look for in our team members. It helps us know what is needed so we can provide the necessary support in order to bridge any gaps in clarity, understanding, skills and/or knowledge.
