Project Overview: Children First Canada (CFC) is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and would like to collaborate with students to create 10 mini videos that highlight 10 iconic Champions for Children. These champions are individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing children’s rights, empowering youth, and creating meaningful change in Canada. These videos will serve as powerful awareness tools to showcase CFC’s impact and celebrate these leaders who have helped shape the future for children across Canada.

Project Goals:

  • Raise awareness about CFC’s mission to make Canada the best place for kids to grow up.
  • Spotlight 10 Champions for Children, celebrating their contributions to CFC’s programs and children’s rights.
  • Highlight CFC’s impactful work, including youth empowerment, policy advocacy, and the Future is NOW! Awards.
  • Demonstrate the importance of collaboration between leaders, organizations, and communities to create lasting change for children and youth.

  • Research and select background music that complements the theme and tone of each champion’s story.
  • Add text overlays, transitions, and visuals that highlight key achievements of each champion and enhance the storytelling.

3.Storytelling and Content Structuring:

  • Focus on impactful storytelling, showcasing the unique contributions of each champion to CFC’s work and children’s rights.
  • Structure the content around each champion's journey, their partnership with CFC, and the change they have helped create for Canadian children and youth.

4.Review and Feedback:

  • Present the video to CFC for feedback and suggested revisions.
  • Revise videos based on feedback to ensure the videos are engaging, clear, and aligned with CFC’s mission and messaging.

Bonus Steps:

  • Recommend ideas and editing tools that could improve the overall quality and effectiveness of future awareness videos.

Children First Canada is a national charity that aspires to create a country where children can grow up free from the barriers that prevent them from achieving their full potential – starting with the protection of their most basic rights to childhood. As a charity that’s uniquely focused on the rights of children in Canada, we aim to raise awareness of the issues, equip young Canadians as the leaders of today and tomorrow, and unite our country around a shared vision and plan to make this the best place in the world for kids to grow up.
