The primary objective of this project is to develop, test, and refine an affiliate marketing program for Claymoo, as well as establish a structured viral video content framework that can be easily followed by influencers. By the end of this project, students will have:

Built and tested an affiliate program, including an onboarding process, payout structure, and tracking system.

Created a clear framework for generating viral videos aligned with our brand.

Reached out to influencers to test the affiliate program and receive real-world feedback.

Provided step-by-step instructions for affiliates to create viral videos and promote Claymoo effectively.

This project is designed to be manageable within a realistic timeframe of 60 hours, spread over 2-8 weeks.

As a growing e-commerce brand, we are expanding our marketing efforts through influencer collaborations and an affiliate program to drive growth.

This project offers students hands-on experience in e-commerce marketing, influencer outreach, and content strategy, directly contributing to a real-world business initiative.


Project Overview

This project is divided into four key phases:


Phase 1: Research & Strategy Development (Week 1-2)

• Research successful e-commerce affiliate programs and influencer marketing strategies.

• Study commission structures, payment processing, and best tracking tools.

• Analyze TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts trends to determine what makes content go viral.

• Research how brands compensate influencers (flat fee vs. performance-based payments).

Phase 2: Building the Affiliate Program (Week 3-4)

• Develop an application and approval process for new affiliates.

• Create a commission structure that incentivizes performance while remaining profitable.

• Set up a system for tracking affiliate sales and paying influencers, recommending necessary tools/software.

• Draft clear terms and conditions for affiliates.

• Develop an influencer outreach template for contacting potential affiliates.

Phase 3: Testing the Affiliate Program & Creating Instructions (Week 5-6)

• Reach out to at least 5-10 influencers to test the program and gather feedback.

• Guide influencers to create viral-style videos using our framework.

• Create step-by-step instructions for future affiliates on how to:

• Sign up and use the affiliate program.

• Follow the viral video creation framework.

• Track their earnings and optimize performance.

• Identify common challenges and refine the program based on influencer feedback.

Phase 4: Finalizing & Scaling the Program (Week 7-8)

• Compile a final report summarizing:

• Affiliate program structure & recommendations.

• Insights from influencer outreach & performance.

• Optimized viral content framework.

• Create a structured onboarding guide for future affiliates.

• Recommend tools or automation software for scaling the affiliate program.


Final Deliverables:

  1. Affiliate Program Blueprint – A structured plan including commission structures, tracking recommendations, and payout methods.
  2. Influencer Outreach Report – A summary of influencer engagement and feedback on the program.
  3. Viral Video Formula – A structured, easy-to-follow framework for creating viral content.
  4. Affiliate Onboarding Guide – Step-by-step instructions for new affiliates, including how to create viral videos and maximize their sales.
  5. Process Documentation – A comprehensive guide on how Claymoo can scale and manage its affiliate program.


Students will submit deliverables as Word documents, PDFs, presentations, and video summaries, along with a reflection note summarizing key learnings.
