Working with Finite Helical Dynamics Inc. (FHDI) on the Cybersecurity Threat Analysis and Mitigation project as part of ICT Ignite Cyber (Feb 10 – March 7, 2025) was a valuable learning experience. Francois Hebert was very welcoming and engaged in the initial stages of the project, demonstrating strong communication skills and enthusiasm for improving security within the company. His insights were helpful in understanding the organization's security landscape. However, towards the end of the project, there were some challenges that limited the ability to fully explore and implement cybersecurity improvements. Additionally, the company lacks a dedicated IT or cybersecurity department, and the existing technical infrastructure is minimal, which meant that the project focused more on general security recommendations rather than technical implementations. While the experience provided insights into organizational security challenges, it would have been beneficial to gain more hands-on exposure to cybersecurity processes and implementations in a more structured technical environment. Nonetheless, I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to Finite Helical Dynamics Inc. and ICT Ignite Cyber and look forward to applying these experiences to future cybersecurity projects.

Our partner from Finite Helical Dynamics Inc demonstrated great enthusiasm and energy at the outset of the cybersecurity threat analysis and mitigation program, along with a clear willingness to learn and engage. My internship at Finite Helical Dynamics has been a highly enriching experience. Working directly with the CEO, I gained valuable insights into both the company's operations and the intersection of business and cybersecurity. His encouragement, especially when he said, "hopefully soon you'll have your own business," was incredibly inspiring and motivated me to pursue my entrepreneurial aspirations. The hands-on projects I worked on, such as cybersecurity assessments and intellectual property protection, allowed me to apply my technical skills in real-world scenarios while developing a deeper understanding of the industry's challenges. The fast-paced nature of the work was both a challenge and a growth opportunity, helping me develop strong time management and problem-solving skills. I also appreciated the opportunity to learn directly from the CEO, whose guidance will undoubtedly influence my future career. This internship has equipped me with valuable insights and skills that I’m excited to apply as I continue in the cybersecurity field.

I've enjoyed getting to know Francois and appreciate his friendly demeanor, which creates a comfortable environment for discussion. To enhance our project effectiveness moving forward, I believe we could benefit from more focused meeting time specifically dedicated to technical aspects of his network and current setup. This additional information would significantly strengthen our analysis capabilities. Establishing consistent communication channels throughout the project lifecycle would also be valuable to ensure we maintain momentum and address questions promptly as they arise.
