Co-op Electrical Engineer
Ballard Power Systems
January 2024 - August 2024
Assisted in debugging truck and high-voltage bus modules, solving EMC/EMI and ESD issues using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and static electricity meters. Conducted EMC frequency analysis, implemented attenuation reduction techniques using ferrites, and reported findings for performance analysis. Debugged pressure transducer signals in truck modules and created detailed reports for evidence-based troubleshooting. In addition, I designed a 70kW test cart for bus programs, integrating electrical and mechanical components to enable efficient testing and debugging. Designed 3D mounts and cart layouts in AutoCAD with precise component installation, and used crimpers, drills, and fasteners to construct low-voltage harnesses. Performed functional testing using oscilloscopes and multimeters to verify low and high-voltage electrical equipment operation.
